Casa Agrícola Pepe Mendoza is a wine project from the Alicante region in Spain that was founded in 2016 by Spanish winemaker Pepe Mendoza. After working as a winemaker for over twenty-five years at the family business Bodegas Enrique Mendoza, he decided to start his own estate together with his wife, Pepa Agulló, and their children. With Casa Agrícola, he wanted to create a small-scale, personal winery entirely focused on respecting nature, the terroir, and the Mediterranean wine tradition.
The vineyards of Casa Agrícola are located primarily in the areas of Marina Alta and Alto Vinalopó, in the province of Alicante. Many of these plots are decades old; some vineyards were planted between 1920 and 1970. These lands are home primarily to traditional Mediterranean grape varieties such as Monastrell, Giró, Moscatel, and Alicante Bouschet. The vineyards are managed in a sustainable manner, using organic farming and dry-farming methods that minimize the use of irrigation.
