The history of the estate began in the 1960s in the heart of the Chablis region with Henri Michaut. At the time, the business was still a mixed farm: he managed crops, livestock, and a small vineyard of about 2 hectares.
Gradually, his three sons – Jean, Bernard, and Christian – joined the family business. From the 1970s onwards, they sold their grapes to the La Chablisienne cooperative, which was a common practice in the region at that time.
In the 1990s, the estate began to grow significantly, expanding to about 25 hectares of vineyards. The family also decided to start making and bottling their own wine. In 2011, an important step was taken: they left the cooperative and began commercializing their wines entirely independently.
This development was accompanied by investments in infrastructure, such as a new wine cellar and bottling line. As a result, production increased from approximately 15,000 bottles per year to 100,000 bottles, and later, significantly more.
Today, the estate is led by Adrien Michaut, who joined the family business in 2010 and is now in charge. Under his leadership, the estate has continued to grow to approximately 53 hectares of vineyards and a production of around 350,000 bottles per year.
