Douhairet-Porcheret

Domaine Douhairet-Porcheret is one of those rare Burgundian wine estates where history, family legacy, and craftsmanship come together seamlessly. Located in the small village of Monthélie, between Volnay and Meursault, the estate looks back on over three centuries of viticultural tradition. Its origins date back to the Monthélie family, who founded the estate more than 300 years ago. The old vaulted cellars and a historic “squirrel press” still serve as reminders of that early period today.

Through the generations, the estate remained in the family's hands. In the twentieth century, it came under the stewardship of Armande Douhairet, a remarkable vigneronne who played a vital role in preserving the family estate. As the world of Burgundy wine underwent significant changes in the late 1980s, she decided to collaborate with André Porcheret, one of the most respected winemakers in the region. Porcheret had made a name for himself as the director of the prestigious Hospices de Beaune and was known for his commitment to finesse and terroir expression. In 1989, the two officially began their partnership, after which the estate was renamed Douhairet-Porcheret.

The collaboration proved to be an instant success. Under the guidance of André Porcheret, the estate grew into a benchmark of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyards include plots in renowned appellations such as Monthélie, Volnay, Pommard, and Meursault. The emphasis has always been on traditional viticulture, with respect for old vines and the purest possible reflection of the terroir.

Following Armande Douhairet's passing in 2004, her legacy was continued by André Porcheret and his granddaughter, Cataldina Lippo. Representing the new generation of the estate, she and her husband, Vincent Monfort, gradually took over the management. Under their guidance, the historic identity has been preserved, while greater attention has been paid to sustainable viticulture and an expanding international presence. Today, the estate covers approximately 6.5 hectares and produces a range of refined red and white Burgundies known for their elegance, purity, and aging potential.
