Juan Gil
Juan Gil traces its origins back to 1916, when Juan Gil Jiménez founded a winery in the Jumilla region of southeastern Spain. In this hot and dry area, where viticulture has existed for centuries, he laid the foundation for a family business that still exists today.
Throughout the 20th century, the estate remained in family hands, with knowledge passed down from generation to generation. However, the real breakthrough came with the fourth generation, who invested heavily in modernization and quality starting in the early 21st century. A new, state-of-the-art winery was built, and the focus shifted to making the most of the local Monastrell grape, which thrives perfectly in Jumilla's dry climate.
Since then, Juan Gil has combined tradition with innovation. Old vines, often more than 40 years old, produce concentrated grapes with great character. At the same time, they work with modern vinification techniques and a strong focus on sustainability.
Today, it is managed by brothers Miguel and Ángel Gil Vera, the 4th generation.
