Château La Marzelle is owned by the Belgian Sioen family and has been part of the official Saint-Emilion classification since 1955. It is situated on the exceptional terroir of the Haute Terrasse of Saint-Emilion, where Pétrus, Cheval Blanc, and Figeac are also located.
The estate has a history dating back to the 18th century, when it was established on the limestone and clay soils of Bordeaux’s right bank. Thanks to this terroir, it developed early on into a producer of high-quality, primarily Merlot-driven wines.
Due to the many innovations at the estate and the transition from organic to biodynamic viticulture, international appreciation for this Saint-Emilion has only grown.
With an increasingly strong focus on organic methods, Château La Marzelle strives to preserve and enhance the unique characteristics of its terroir. In doing so, they are advised by Michel Rolland and Jean-Luc Thunevin.
